Not valid win32 application fix

| August 12, 2011

You are on your computer and you get a message saying that (this file or program) is not a valid windows 32 application. The computer will also explain to you what caused it: file is corrupt or missing, not compatible with hardware, doesn’t work with this version of windows, or malicious software like viruses destroyed it. So how do we go about fixing that problem? Depending on what happened here are the solution.

If it is hardware problems, your options are to find the drivers to the software to make it work or uninstall it.

If the file doesn’t work with this version of windows, your options are to uninstall it and find the program that supports win32 bit or upgrade to 64 bit.

If the file is destroyed by viruses or any other kind of malicious software, then find the harmful file and scan it. Delete or quarantine the software if it’s infected. If the file is clean, then restart the computer in safe mode and run the program. Safe mode will let you know if anything is running in the background. Simply scan and delete or quarantine afterwards.

If the file is corrupt or missing, your options are to re-download the files, clean the CD (if a cd was inserted), run scandisk and defrag, re-install the program to a different directory, or the file is just bad (in that case delete the file).

If none of these solutions help, then get registry repair software to fix the issue.
